Job summary

Toyota’s Regulatory Affairs & Environmental Sustainability Division seeks a Principal Engineer - Electrification in Saline, Michigan to drive regulatory compliance for electrification projects, including batteries and fuel cells. You will shape policy, draft tactical plans, and oversee execution across the enterprise.

You will coordinate with design, purchasing, and manufacturing teams and manage complex, multi-year programs while ensuring timely regulatory reporting and adherence to evolving

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten years of automotive, battery, or regulatory compliance related experience.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and create policy and implementation plans.
• Strong communication, influencing, relationship-building, negotiation and perseverance.
• Strong project management capabilities for highly complex, multi-year programs.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for electrification projects including battery and fuel cell products.
• Track and communicate electrification plans with stakeholders.
• Lead EPA PMN strategy and TSCA compliance planning with TBMNC collaboration.
• Coordinate TSCA PMN and EPA Consent Orders for materials.
• Lead Battery EPR programs; develop BMPs, reporting and labeling.
• Coordinate TMNA stakeholders and escalate to Senior Management.
