Job summary

The Toro Company is seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Engineer to drive safety and regulatory standards for electric power equipment. You will guide design teams, interpret national and international standards, and collaborate with legal and QA departments to ensure compliant product development.

Hybrid work arrangement with opportunities for collaboration across domestic and international teams. Strong emphasis on communication with senior management and external regulators.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Mechatronics or applicable engineering degree required.
• 5+ years’ experience evaluating safety standards and ensuring product compliance in electric products industry.
• 7+ years’ experience in safety standards, proactive product safety management or compliance in manufacturing (electric products).
• Experience with regulatory compliance and standards promulgation for electric products.
• Ability to analyze and interpret safety standards and communicate implications to senior management.
• International experience and standards-writing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Track safety and regulatory compliance for electric products and ensure teams meet requirements.
• Advise development teams on electric product safety compliance.
• Evaluate and interpret U.S. and international safety standards for compliance.
• Provide safety and regulatory design guidance for development teams.
• Update standards and implement new requirements for products.
• Support EU risk assessments and review operators’ manuals.
• Prepare product safety compliance plans for projects.
• Educate teams on standards changes and interface with regulatory agencies.
