Job summary

Toyota is seeking a Principal Engineer - Electrification to lead regulatory compliance for electrification projects, including batteries, across TMNA. You will craft policy, tactical plans, and oversee execution, reporting to the Senior Manager of Chemical and Materials Stewardship.

The role requires deep regulatory knowledge, cross-functional leadership, and a track record in automotive compliance. Collaboration with North American teams and external regulators is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related engineering discipline or related field.
• Chemistry and/or materials knowledge either through experience or education.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and create policy and implementation plans.
• Minimum of ten years of automotive, battery, or regulatory compliance experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation capabilities across stakeholders.
• Project management for highly complex, multi-year projects across enterprise functions.
• MS Office suite with project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for electrification projects including battery and fuel cell-based products.
• Track electrification plans and coordinate with design and purchasing teams.
• Lead EPA PMN and TSCA related regulatory activities as needed.
• Coordinate with TBMNC to ensure consent order compliance.
• Provide regulatory expertise and enterprise reporting for batteries used in TMNA products.
