Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Energy and Power Discipline Leader to drive growth in electrification, grid modernization, and renewable energy across federal, state, regional, and local clients. This role demands subject matter expertise in EVs, microgrids, and battery technologies, with a focus on concept development and strategy.

You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor staff, and collaborate with researchers, vendors, and clients while navigating a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; PE license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency dependent on duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of analyses, evaluation, design, and processes for electric vehicle fleet adoption by clients.
• Provide electrification and renewable energy advisory and design support to clients nationwide.
• Educate internal leaders on new policies and funding opportunities for electrification.
• Lead qualitative and quantitative analyses, including financial modeling, cost-benefit analyses, and incentives evaluation.
• Champion R&D initiatives related to green/electrification/renewable energy to support emerging trends.
• Lead cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams in developing and implementing complex strategic efforts.
• Be both a seller and a doer, helping clients navigate new areas in mobility.
• Collaborate with researchers, vendors, and clients, including end users.
• Lead webinars and technical luminescence activities to promote discipline goals.
• Support Transformative Growth Areas related to power for data centers, decarbonization, and grid modernization.
