Job summary

St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont is seeking an Electricity Technology Instructor to deliver hands-on training and classroom instruction in our Career and Technical Education program.

You will teach safety, residential and commercial electrical fundamentals, develop syllabi, assess students, and build industry partnerships to prepare graduates for technical careers. Qualifications

• Vermont Teaching License preferred, or willingness to pursue licensure.
• Current Vermont Master Electrician License.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or 6+ years of equivalent licensed electrician experience.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise work-based learning projects within the Academy campus or community-based projects.
• Prepare and deliver syllabi for course curriculum.
• Teach safety standards, residential and commercial electrical techniques, both classroom and hands-on.
• Develop industry partnerships and collaborate on program initiatives and training methodologies.
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate students’ progress.
• Maintain student assessments and records and submit progress reports and grades.
• Assist in program recruitment and development.
• Demonstrate core values of excellence, safety, integrity, and service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
