Job Description
Electrical Instructor:
The Windham Regional Career Center is seeking a licensed Master Electrician, with knowledge of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work experience, to develop and teach a program that prepares students for completing an electrical apprenticeship or higher education.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- 1. Develop curriculum and programming to build students’ knowledge and skills to enable them to seek training and employment as electricians
- 2. Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to attendance records, schedules, and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and skill mastery
- 3. Evaluate and document students’ progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained.
- 4. Communicate effectively with students, and all those affiliated with the course, including staff at coop sites, career center staff, State of Vermont agencies, and prospective employers.
- 5. Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good service
- 6. Maintain data and other required information
- 7. Maintain an active Electrical Advisory Committee
- 8. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director

Job Requirements
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1. Licensed electrician in Vermont, experience working with apprentices preferred.
- 2. Willingness to work with other Vermont Career and Technical Education instructors on program development.
- 3. Ability to build contacts and relationships with local industry members
- 4. Ability to attend trainings as needed or required
- 5. Ability to communicate with parents
- 6. Ability to lift at least 45 lbs.
- 7. Must be or become a licensed CTE Instructor within the first 3 years
- SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 1. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- 2. Excellent organizational skills
- 3. Skilled in teaching high school age learners
- 4. Willingness to work on a flexible schedule to meet educational requirements
- 5. Possess strong interpersonal skills
- 6. Ability to work independently
- At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- High School/Trade School degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
