Job Description

This role focuses on performing the full electrical scope of work for a large, new manufacturing plant in the Jacksonville, FL area. You will assemble, install, and wire electrical apparatus, fixtures, and systems using hand and power tools, with a strong emphasis on bending and running conduit and EMT. You will read and interpret blueprints, install fuse boxes, and complete electrical work on commercial jobsites both indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installation and wiring for new commercial construction projects at a large resort complex, including assembling and installing electrical apparatus and fixtures.

• Bend, run, and install conduit and EMT with a high level of proficiency, including routing conduit through walls and other building structures.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations accurately.

• Install fuse boxes, panels, and other electrical components, ensuring proper configuration and compliance with relevant electrical codes.

• Perform electrical troubleshooting to diagnose issues in wiring, components, and systems, and implement effective solutions.

• Complete terminations and wire up panels, including high-voltage terminations, in accordance with industry standards and safety practices.

• Use basic hand tools and power tools, including a cordless drill and everyday electrical tools, to perform all phases of electrical work.

• Work independently and, for top installers, oversee a crew of helpers, coordinating tasks and ensuring work quality and productivity.

• Follow project plans and schedules to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship on commercial new construction jobsites.

• Adhere strictly to all site safety requirements, including wearing required PPE such as Type 2 hard hat, safety glasses, safety gloves, steel-toed boots, hi-vis vest or shirt, and working pants.

• Maintain reliable transportation to ensure consistent on-time arrival at the jobsite by 6:50 a.m. for a 7:00 a.m. start, working a standard 5-day, 40-hour workweek.

• Work in varying conditions on commercial jobsites, both indoors and outdoors, and perform duties safely and efficiently in changing weather and environmental conditions.

Essential Skills

• At least 7 years of commercial new construction electrical experience, with a strong focus on conduit work.

• 8+ years of new commercial construction experience for top candidates, with recent experience within the last year.

• Proficiency in bending, running, and installing conduit and EMT, including routing conduit in and out of walls.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings for commercial projects.

• Strong skills in electrical wiring for new construction, including pulling wire and installing electrical components.

• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, including diagnosing and resolving issues in wiring, panels, and components.

• Ability to perform terminations and wire up electrical panels, including high-voltage work.

• Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) and the ability to apply code requirements to installations and wiring.

• Capability to perform all phases of electrical work with little to no supervision on commercial new construction projects.

• Experience overseeing and directing a crew of helpers or installers on site.

Work Environment

Personal protective equipment is mandatory, including a Type 2 hard hat, safety glasses, safety gloves, steel-toed boots, a hi-visibility vest or shirt, and working pants, reflecting a safety-focused, professional construction environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
