Job summary

A & F Electric is expanding its Sonoma Division and seeking a California-certified journeyman electrician to lead the start-up phase. This position focuses on building a strong field foundation, mentoring the crew, and growing into division leadership as the team scales.

You will run high-end commercial and residential projects, read complex plans, and coordinate with GCs and clients while representing the company with professionalism and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• California-certified General Electrician (journeyman) or actively certified and able to verify status.
• Significant commercial and/or high-end residential experience (winery/tenant-improvement a strong plus).
• Proven ability to run work independently, read plans and specs, and coordinate with GCs, superintendents, office staff, and clients.
• Leads by example and wants to mentor and develop others.
• Character, professionalism, and leadership first — years of experience matter, but these qualities matter more.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial and high-end residential electrical systems with craftsmanship.
• Read and interpret plans, specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate with project team: superintendents, office staff, general contractors, clients.
• Identify and solve problems before they impact the project.
• Run organized, safe jobsites and mentor apprentices.
• Represent A&F professionally on each project.
• Help shape systems, standards, and culture of the new Sonoma division.

• Location: Sonoma & Napa Counties, growing into Marin — North Bay–based
• Pay:$45–$65/hour, depending on experience and leadership ability (full-time, hourly; defined growth path into division leadership)
  • $93,600 - $135,200 annually
