Job summary

The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is seeking electricians to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in City facilities. Responsibilities include wiring, conduits, testing, and drawing layouts, with overtime and on-call work as needed.

Minimum qualifications include five years of electrician experience or three years plus related education, and NY driver license requirements for certain positions. Residency rules apply.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience as an electrician or three years plus related education.
• Education in electrical or electronic field with approved trade/technical school.
• Valid NY Motor Vehicle Driver License required for certain positions.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electrical systems for buildings and structures.
• Install conduits, raceways and conductors; test and diagnose faults.
• Prepare sketches, drawings and layouts; maintain records.
• Overtime possible, including weekends and holidays.
