Job summary

The City of New York is recruiting three Electricians to install, repair and maintain electrical systems in DHS shelters and facilities. You will work with in-house teams to ensure code compliance, proper testing, and safe operation of building systems.

Qualifications include extensive electrical experience, knowledge of blueprints and the NYC Electrical Code, and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays in a demanding public service environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as an electrician or
• At least three years with related experience and education to make up the remaining requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems in buildings and structures.
• Install conduits, raceways and conductors and test installations.
• Prepare sketches, drawings and reports; maintain records.
• Supervise assigned personnel when needed and cover duties in supervisor’s absence.
• Be available for overtime, weekends and holidays.
