Summary
Maintains major electrical equipment and systems. Facilitates repairs, replacement, and upgrades to all electrical systems to ensure a safe and functional facility.
Description
Under general direction, inspects, installs, repairs, and replaces all components of the electrical distribution systems. Installs new system components, electrical panel boards, switch gear, ATSs, generators, paralleling gear, etc. Assists the Director in planning for expansion/renovation projects and forecasting operating budget and capital needs. Performs other related tasks including maintenance, service, repair, testing, inspection, and installation of electrical systems and components, as well as maintaining inventory parts and supplies. May provide assistance to other maintenance personnel in performing repair and service functions. Performs other duties as assigned, consistent with training and department needs.
Qualifications
Education:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Graduate of trade or vocational school in a related field.
Experience:
Required: 5 years of progressive experience with an electrical contractor, construction company, or in a commercial or hospital service environment.
Certifications:
Required: Master electrician license.
