Job summary

GTCC, Jamestown Campus, is seeking an Electrician I to perform routine electrical maintenance and repair, assist with small renovations, and support HVAC electrical work. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and coordinated campus maintenance across facilities.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of related experience, with familiarity with the National Electrical Code and reading schematics. Strong teamwork and physical capability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2+ years of electrical repair/maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code and typical commercial facilities electrical standards.
• Ability to read basic electrical schematics and perform maintenance with limited supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to document maintenance activities accurately.
• Ability to operate vehicles and lift up to 50 pounds; basic computer skills including MS Word/Excel.
• Willingness to work varied hours and in inclement weather; participate in emergency response if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance/repair of electrical systems, lighting, and power distribution panels.
• Assist Electrician I with small-scale renovations and additions to buildings.
• Support HVAC electrical equipment maintenance in coordination with HVAC technicians.
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation; communicate with staff and campus stakeholders.
• Participate in safety trainings and job-related seminars.
