Job summary

Georgia Tech seeks a master-level electrician to perform the full range of operational maintenance and troubleshooting of campus electrical and internal wiring systems. You will supervise Electricians I and II on site, coordinate outages, and liaise with engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure safety and reliability of power delivery across campus.

Qualifications

  • Eight to ten years of job-related electrical experience.
  • High school diploma or GED; on-site availability; travel requirements specified by project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tests and troubleshooting of campus electrical distribution systems (high voltage and secondary voltage).
  • Coordinate activities of engineers, contractors and state agencies in designing and upgrading electrical systems; prepare and review contracts.
  • Schedule, coordinate and inspect work of Electricians I and II; provide direct supervision in absence of supervisor.
  • Provide input in scheduling of power outages including campus notification.
  • Obtain necessary materials and supplies; may include direct purchasing from vendors if authorized.
  • Observe campus and industry safety procedures.
  • Perform non-electrical duties as directed within multi-craft work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
