Job summary

JEVS Human Services is seeking an Assistant Instructor for the Residential and Commercial Electricity program at Orleans Technical College in Philadelphia. You will support instructors with hands-on projects and theory in safety and math, helping students grasp basic electricity concepts.

The role involves assisting with lesson plans, evaluations, attendance, grading, and classroom coverage as needed within a shop environment.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of verifiable related work experience.
• Willingness to work under close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist the instructor in completing lesson plans, evaluations, progress reports, and attendance.
• Help students understand basic course work in safety, math, and electricity.
• Substitute teach when needed and maintain shop equipment.
• Support other building trades programs as required.
• Assist in grading tests and recording grades.

JEVS Human Services has an exciting opportunity to join the team at our Orleans Technical College as an Assistant Instructor for our Residential and Commercial Electricity program. The Assistant Instructor will assist in the instruction of students through hands‑on projects and theory in safety, math, and other basics of residential and commercial electricity.

Responsibilities

• Assist the instructor(s) in the completion of lesson plans, student evaluations, progress reports, and attendance.
• Aid students in understanding basic course work.
• Substitute teach in the event that an instructor is unavailable.
• Maintain shop equipment.
• Provide similar coverage and assistance to other building trade programs as needed
• Assist instructor with grading tests and entering grades.
• Performs related work as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years verifiable related work experience.
• Being amenable to close supervision.

The base pay for this position is $25.00. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
