Job summary

Johns Manville seeks an Electrician Apprentice in McPherson, KS to inspect, maintain and repair plant machinery and systems under supervision. You will read blueprints, plan tasks, and perform varied maintenance with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include wiring, tools operation, and adherence to NFPA 70E; apprentices attend classes at HCC and tuition is paid by Johns Manville. Applicants should have basic Electrical knowledge and a willingness to learn PLC concepts.

Qualifications

• Electrician experience preferred.
• Knowledge in PLC and drive configuration.
• Knowledge of Ethernet networking.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally with a variety of individuals.
• Incumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, systems, and facilities.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints, diagrams, and sketches; take measurements and calculations.
• Plan and lay out work assignments for maximum efficiency.
• Operate and use hand and power tools and testing instruments.
• Adhere to NFPA 70E safety requirements and CPR certification.
