Job summary

Johns Manville in McPherson, KS is seeking an Electrician Apprentice to join the team. The base hourly rate is $33.77 with a Monday–Friday shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, subject to adjustments as needed.

The Apprenticeship program includes classes at HCC, pays tuition where applicable, and offers comprehensive benefits such as health plans, a 401(k) with company match, paid vacation, sick and parental leave, life and disability insurance, EAP, travel coverage, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Electrician experience preferred.
• Knowledge in PLC and drive configuration.
• Knowledge of Ethernet networking.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and non-verbally with a variety of individuals.
• Incumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments.
• Plans and lay out work assignments to accomplish them with maximum efficiency.
• Prepares, reads, interprets, and follows basic blueprints, diagrams, and sketches, making all measurements and calculations necessary to complete job.
• Performs all types of maintenance and repair work essential to plant operation.
• Inspects machinery and equipment and diagnoses faulty operation.
• Uses hand and power tools and measuring/testing instruments.
• Adheres to NFPA 70E CPR requirements for electricians.
