Job Description

Mister Sparky, an affiliate of Authority Brands Inc., is seeking an Electrician Apprentice for our Atlanta area office. The Electrician Apprentice will perform tasks related to electrical repair and installation of electrical equipment for residential customers and is responsible for maintaining customer health, safety, and satisfaction. The Electrician Apprentice works under the supervision of Lead Electrician.

Our Apprentices work Monday through Friday with only occasional, voluntary Saturday hours. We happily accommodate Apprenticeship class schedules because we're as invested in your education as you are!

Responsibilities:
  1. Learn electrical trade craft from Lead Electricians while applying school-learned NEC code, electrical theory, calculations, and Ohm's Law in real-life field settings.
  2. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures while in a de-energized state.
  3. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  4. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  5. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes.
  6. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  7. Work closely with other departments to ensure the proper transfer of all service work business data.
  8. Maintain company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. Enrollment in an Electrical Apprenticeship program is highly preferred.
  3. Basic math and reading comprehension required.
  4. Knowledge of electrical field concepts, practices, best practices, and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes, and Lighting Systems.
  5. Ability to work well with others and strong communication skills are a must.
  6. Must have appropriate trade tools.
  7. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  8. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
