Job summary

Overview

To serve as an Electrician, responsible for the advanced electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all production equipment, and requires performing mechanical duties when needed to support overall plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs complex electrical, PLC, and control systems on all production machinery.
• Executes detailed preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure operational reliability. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Troubleshoots, services, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and material flow systems on all production machinery. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Maintains department records.
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detects faulty operations, reports defective material and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
• Responsible for quality of work performed and for identifying and documenting quality problems for corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a plant environment
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and maintaining PLC systems, VFDs, 110V, 220V, and 480V systems
• Strong understanding of mechanical troubleshooting for systems such as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and more

Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

• Standing and/or walking throughout the shift
• Perform physical skills: hold, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and listen
• Lifting/Carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Use of both hands when required, some repetitive motion required
• Work in both extremely hot and cold temperatures as well as wet conditions
