Job summary

Fair Oaks Foods includes an Electrician role focused on advanced electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all production equipment. This position may require mechanical duties to support plant operations.

The Electrician will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical and PLC systems, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safety and quality in a manufacturing environment. Standing/walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in varying temperatures are standard

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and maintenance, PLCs, and VFDs.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, pneumatic, and related systems.

Job description

Position Summary

To serve as an Electrician, responsible for the advanced electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of all production equipment, and requires performing mechanical duties when needed to support overall plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs complex electrical, PLC, and control systems on all production machinery.
• Execute detailed preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure operational reliability. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Troubleshoot, service, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and material flow systems all production machinery. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Maintain department records.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Responsible for quality of work performed and for identifying and documenting quality problems for corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in plant environment.
• Required experience with electrical troubleshooting and maintaining, PLC Systems, VFDs, 110V, 220V, and 480V systems.
• Require a strong understanding of mechanical troubleshooting for a variety of systems such as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and more.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required:

• Standing and/or walking throughout the shift
• Perform physical skills: hold, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and listen
• Lifting /Carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Use of both hands when required, some repetitive motion required
• Work in both extremely hot and cold temperatures as well as wet conditions.
