Job summary

AWS/CES is seeking an Industrial Electrician to support our automotive manufacturing client in Warren, MI. This full-time role focuses on maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of plant electrical systems with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues via schematics and ladder diagrams, performing wiring and upgrades, and supporting preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to pass an electrician aptitude test.
• Strong experience with industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and electrical systems with minimal supervision.
• Perform electrical wiring, installations, and upgrades based on schematics and documentation.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
• Diagnose issues using electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
• Assist with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic system troubleshooting.
• Install and run conduit, wire-ways, panels, and power drops.
• Build, label, and wire control panels and electrical boxes.
• Update drawings/prints and recommend spare parts or system improvements.
• Respond to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks to support production needs.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support manufacturing operations through maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of plant equipment and machinery. This role requires a strong technical background, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and electrical systems with minimal supervision

• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime
• Diagnose issues using electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and diagnostic tools

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and high-voltage systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder diagrams
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, and PLC troubleshooting (preferred)
• Proficient with electrical meters and diagnostic instruments (AC/DC circuits)
• Ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education & Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
• Ability to pass an electrician aptitude test
