Job summary

Monroechamber is seeking a skilled Electrician in Sheboygan, WI to join our manufacturing maintenance team. The role will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems, automated machinery, motors, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and distribution systems.

The position requires 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance, reading schematics and blueprints, and adherence to OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electrical controls, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and automation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Experience using multimeters, electrical testers, meters, and other electrical troubleshooting equipment.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical safety, OSHA requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Title: Electrician

Wage: $35.00-$45.00/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6:00am-3:00pm

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join a manufacturing maintenance team in Sheboygan, WI. This direct hire position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems, manufacturing equipment, automated machinery, electrical controls, motors, PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and electrical distribution systems.

Electrician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain industrial electrical systems and manufacturing equipment
• Diagnose electrical, control, and automation issues using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment
• Troubleshoot and maintain motors, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, control panels, and electrical distribution systems
• Troubleshoot automated production equipment and machinery to minimize equipment downtime
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, ladder logic, and technical manuals
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing and facility equipment
• Assist with installation, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of new machinery and production equipment
• Inspect electrical components and systems for defects, hazards, wear, and required repairs
• Perform electrical repairs and modifications while following proper safety procedures
• Follow OSHA, NFPA, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and electrical safety requirements
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, repair documentation, and equipment history
• Respond to emergency and breakdown maintenance calls as needed
• Work with maintenance and production personnel to identify recurring equipment problems and improve reliability
• Participate in continuous improvement, equipment upgrades, and maintenance projects
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Electrician Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electrical controls, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and automation
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Experience using multimeters, electrical testers, meters, and other electrical troubleshooting equipment
• Knowledge of industrial electrical safety, OSHA requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work around industrial equipment
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to distinguish colors for electrical wiring identification
• Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, dust, heat, and other manufacturing conditions
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• This is a manufacturing maintenance environment with exposure to machinery, electrical equipment, noise, dust, heat, and other industrial conditions
• May require overtime, weekends, emergency maintenance, or on-call support based on production and maintenance needs
• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements are mandatory

Preferred:

• Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent electrical certification
• Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship or technical program
• Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience
• Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC systems
• Experience with industrial automation and control systems
• Experience with VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, motor starters, and control panels
• CMRP, electrical certification, or other industrial maintenance credentials
