Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking an Electrician to join our maintenance team. The role focuses on maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, consulting, researching, and developing process control instrumentation to optimize production efficiency in surface mining facilities.

You will travel between quarry locations and coordinate in-house repairs, upgrades, and automation improvements while collaborating with the engineering group to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree in Electrical or comparable experience.
• Certified/licensed Electrician with Journeyman’s card preferred.
• Experience with PLCs is beneficial.
• Experience in aggregate or similar industry preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drives.
• Research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reporting.
• Work closely with engineering group to meet deadlines and complete capital projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, consulting, researching, and developing electrical process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum production efficiency under the supervision of the Site Supervisor. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations. Martin Marietta is seeking an Electrician to join our growing Maintenance team! The primary function of the Electrician is to maintain, calibrate, perform trouble analysis, consult, research and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum efficiency of our mining operations.

This role operates 100% of the time in surface mining facilities

A typical day for an Electrician may include:

• Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drives
• Actively research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reporting
• Work closely with engineering group to meet deadlines and complete capital projects

You may be a good fit if you

• Have a 2-year technical degree in Electrical or comparable experience
• Are a certified/licensed Electrician
• Hold a Journeyman’s card (this is preferred but not required)
• Have experience with PLC’s (this is preferred but not required)
• Have worked in the aggregate or similar industry for at least 1 year
• Have strong attention to detail, a high sense of urgency as well as safety acumen
• Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle
