Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking an Electrician to join our maintenance team in a surface mining environment.

The role focuses on maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and developing process control instrumentation to optimize production efficiency under site supervision. The Electrician will travel between quarry locations, coordinate repairs, and work with engineering to meet capital project deadlines while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree in Electrical or comparable experience.
• Journeyman license or card is preferred.
• Experience with PLCs is a plus.
• Certified/licensed Electrician status is required.
• Industrial electrical experience in mining or aggregate industries is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drives.
• Research potential automation upgrades and fine-tune plant for safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering to meet deadlines and complete capital projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, consulting, researching, and developing electrical process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum production efficiency under the supervision of the Site Supervisor. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations. Martin Marietta is seeking an Electrician to join our growing Maintenance team! The primary function of the Electrician is to maintain, calibrate, perform trouble analysis, consult, research and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum efficiency of our mining operations.

This role operates 100% of the time in surface mining facilities

A typical day for an Electrician may include:

• Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgrades
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drives
• Actively research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reporting
• Work closely with engineering group to meet deadlines and complete capital projects

You may be a good fit if you

• Have a 2-year technical degree in Electrical or comparable experience
• Are a certified/licensed Electrician
• Hold a Journeyman’s card (this is preferred but not required)
• Have experience with PLC’s (this is preferred but not required)
• Have worked in the aggregate or similar industry for at least 1 year
• Have strong attention to detail, a high sense of urgency as well as safety acumen
• Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehicle
