Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking an Electrician to join our Maintenance team. The Electrician will maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, consult, research and develop process control instrumentation to optimize production efficiency at our surface mining operations.

Traveling to quarry sites is required. Ideal candidates will have a 2-year technical degree in Electrical, a Journeyman's card (preferred), and experience with PLCs and motor controls.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in Electrical or equivalent.
• Journeyman's card preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot electrical process control instrumentation to optimize production efficiency.
• Coordinate in-house electrical repairs and upgrades.
• Work with engineering on capital projects and plant improvements.
• Travel to quarry and other locations as required.
• Ensure safety compliance and limit downtime.

The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, consulting, researching, and developing electrical process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum production efficiency under the supervision of the Site Supervisor. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations.Martin Marietta is seeking an Electrician to join our growing Maintenance team! The primary function of the Electrician is to maintain, calibrate, perform trouble analysis, consult, research and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum efficiency of our mining operations. This role operates 100% of the time in surface mining facilitiesA typical day for an Electrician may include:Coordinate all in-house electrical repairs and upgradesTroubleshoot AC/DC motor controls and drivesActively research potential upgrades in automation and fine-tune existing plant to improve safety, efficiencies, plant capacities, consistency, availability and reportingWork closely with engineering group to meet deadlines and complete capital projectsOther duties as assignedYou may be a good fit if youHave a 2-year technical degree in Electrical or comparable experienceAre a certified/licensed ElectricianHold a Journeyman’s card (this is preferred but not required)Have experience with PLC’s (this is preferred but not required)Have worked in the aggregate or similar industry for at least 1 yearHave strong attention to detail, a high sense of urgency as well as safety acumenPossess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a company vehiclePhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
