Job summary

Northern NV Jobs is seeking an experienced Electrician/Maintenance Technician to support, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and facilities for the mine. This role focuses on planned maintenance, monitoring equipment, and collaborating with operations and mine planning to deliver tactical and strategic electrical support.

The ideal candidate will read electrical schematics, diagnose issues, perform field and shop testing, and ensure safety compliance under MSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience in mining/manufacturing.
• Read electrical blueprints and schematics/manufacturers manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and planning abilities.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with MSHA and company safety regulations and procedures.
• Diagnose problems, develop solutions and repair electrical equipment to standards.
• Maintain crusher, belt line, process plant and facilities as needed.
• Interpret information from schematics and manuals.
• Use voltmeters/amm meters and testing apparatus to test equipment.
• Test and calibrate electrical components in field and shop.
• Ensure work areas are safe; perform risk assessments.
• Assess downtime severity and estimate repair times.
• Request bids for parts; install conduit, control panels, motors, lighting, wiring.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Support, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all electrical equipment and facilities for the mine. Completes planned maintenance, monitors equipment, communicates equipment and facility needs/issues and partners with operations departments and mine planning to provide both tactical and strategic support for the electrical needs of the mine.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with and adherence to all MSHA and company safety regulations, policies and procedures.


• Diagnose problems, develop solutions and repair electrical equipment to manufacturer's and company operating standards


• Maintenance of crusher, belt line, process pant and facilities as needed


• Interprets information from schematics, maintenance and parts manuals


• Utilizes voltmeters, ammeters and related testing apparatuses to test defective equipment


• Test and calibrate electrical components in the field and shop environments


• Determines work areas are safe and free of hazards. Performs field level risk assessments.


• Determines severity of equipment down times and estimates time to make repairs


• Ability to request bids from vendors for parts Installs equipment such as conduit, control panels, motors, lighting, wire pulling, etc.)


• May perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years work experience in a manufacturing or mining operation


• Must be able to read electrical blueprints and manufacturer's schematics and manuals


• Ability to troubleshoot effectively with the ability to plan and implement plan


• Must posses good written and verbal communication skills.


• Must have experience in 480 3-phase motor controls and system operation


• Must have experience with low voltage 120V to 24V control systems


• Must be experienced with troubleshooting and repair of PLCs and controlsMust be knowledgeable of electrical code and installation procedures
