Job summary

Turner Mining Group is seeking an Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems used in mining operations. This role ensures safe, reliable production and compliance with MSHA and NEC standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining power distribution, motors, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation; reading schematics; testing with diagnostic tools; and maintaining accurate maintenance records. MSHA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent industrial electrical experience.
  • Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, motor controls, and industrial electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Job Summary

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment used in mining operations. This role supports safe, reliable production by ensuring all electrical components operate efficiently and in compliance with applicable safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motors, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, lighting systems, and instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults on mining equipment such as conveyors, crushers, pumps, drills, and processing plant equipment
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Test electrical systems using appropriate meters and diagnostic tools
  • Ensure all work complies with MSHA regulations, NEC standards, and site‑specific safety policies
  • Lockout/tagout equipment and follow all safety and environmental procedures
  • Communicate effectively with maintenance, operations, and supervision regarding equipment status and repairs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and audits as required
Required Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent industrial electrical experience
  • Experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC systems, motor controls, and industrial electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment
  • Must be able to pass required site‑specific training, medical exams, and drug/alcohol screening
Tools & Equipment Requirement
  • Employees must furnish their own basic electrical hand tools and meters, including but not limited to multimeters, clamp meters, and standard electrician tools
  • Specialty tools, PPE, and site‑specific equipment will be provided by the employer
Physical & Work Environment
  • Work is performed in an active mining environment with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSHA certification
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and VFDs
  • Mining or aggregate industry experience
