Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking an NCCER-certified Electrician for a long-term assignment in Baytown, TX. The role involves planning and installing electrical wiring and control equipment in industrial settings.

Non-exempt and reporting to the Foreman, duties are performed per site procedures with regular quality and safety checks. Qualifications include NCCER certification, high school or equivalent, and 1–4 years of experience based on level.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience in specified skill depending on mechanic level.
• Post offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and acceptance of policy.
• Must comply with safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials and provide access for future maintenance.
• Avoid hazardous, unreliable wiring and follow diagrams/blueprints.
• Install conduit, pull wiring, splice, and connect to fixtures and equipment.
• Test circuit continuity to ensure safety and compatibility.
• Relocate or replace as needed under supervisor direction.

Turner Industries Group has an opening for an NCCER certified Electrician to join our team long-term in the Baytown, TX area. The Electrician position plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

• 5/10's, overtime and callouts

Essential Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• NCCER certification
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them
• Working on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements

Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, Provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring, Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, Pulls wiring through conduit, Splices wires, Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads, Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement, May repair faulty equipment or systems, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Physical Involvement
