Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking an Electrician for our Kingsport, TN team. The role involves planning, installing and repairing wiring, fixtures and control equipment in an industrial setting.

The position is non-exempt and reports to the Foreman. Applicants should have 1–4 years of experience, NCCER certification, and the ability to work with high voltage systems as required by the client.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent is required.
• Must have mechanical knowledge.
• 1–4 years of experience in the specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
• Must know how to use electrician's tools.
• Qualification for high voltage distribution systems (600V or 69kV) is required.
• NCCER certification is required.
• Pre-employment written qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste and ensure future maintenance access.
• Prepare sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints to install concealed wiring.
• Install conduit, splice wires, connect lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Test continuity and ensure electrical safety of components.
• Observe equipment operation and perform adjustments or repairs as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor.

Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for an Electrician to join our team in Kingsport, TN. The Electrician position plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• Must have mechanical knowledge
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them
• Working on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification
• Must be NCCER certified
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements:

Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, Provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring, Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, Pulls wiring through conduit, Splices wires, Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads, Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement, May repair faulty equipment or systems, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:
