Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to join our Baton Rouge, LA team. The role schedules, coordinates and supervises maintenance and construction workers and provides on-site management for projects. Reports to Site Manager or Project Manager; develops procedures within policy guidelines.

The position requires extensive field leadership, strong safety discipline, and ability to drive productivity while meeting design and schedule objectives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 8–10 years of technical training and/or related experience.
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction.
• Basic knowledge of all crafts.
• Advanced knowledge of key crafts onsite: mechanical skills, planning and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site maintenance and/or construction activities to meet design, budget and schedule.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions including scheduling, engineering and material control.
• Provide technical assistance and interpretation of drawings as required.
• Develop and implement project procedures, standards and safety programs.
• Enforce safety regulations and company policies; document violations and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate productivity and material/equipment usage; adjust work sequences to meet schedule.

Turner Industries is looking for an Electrical Superintendent to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. The Superintendent position schedules, coordinates and supervises the activities of maintenance and construction workers and provides overall on-site administrative and technical management on maintenance or construction sites. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Site Manager or Project Manager; Establishes procedures for specific goals in a broad area of work / only results are reviewed / develops procedures within limits of policy and guidelines.

Functional Requirements:

Supervises total maintenance and/or construction effort to ensure project is constructed and/or maintained in accordance with design, budget, and schedule (includes interfacing with client representatives); plans, coordinates, and supervises on-site functions including scheduling, engineering, material control, etc.; provides technical assistance, such as interpretation of drawings, as required; assists project management in developing and implementing project procedures, standards, etc.; ensures all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, company standards, etc.; creates new policies and procedures or updates existing policies with plant or project management approvals; documents all violations, notifies project management, and recommends/implements corrective actions as required; assumes responsibility for productivity of employees, efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the job; interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations; analyzes and resolves work related problems; establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Essential Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• Eight (8) to ten (10) years of technical training and/or related experience
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction
• Basic knowledge of all crafts
• Advanced knowledge of key crafts onsite, i.e., mechanical skills, soft skills, planning and safety
• Highly developed leadership and mentor skills
• Preferred Turner Leadership Training
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement:
