Job summary

Intrepid Potash is seeking an Electrical Working Supervisor for East Plant Surface Operations. You will lead a multi-discipline maintenance team responsible for electrical and instrumentation upkeep, safety, and reliability to support production targets.

The role reports to the East Maintenance General Foreman and requires ensuring asset integrity, applying maintenance standards, and coordinating with operations to sustain plant availability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a mine/plant/industrial production environment including operating and maintenance.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred.

Description

The Electrical Working Supervisor leads electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities for East Plant Surface Operations, with responsibility for safe work execution, equipment reliability, workforce direction, and alignment with production goals.

Reporting to the East Maintenance General Foreman, this role directs a multi-discipline team that provides maintenance and reliability services for East Plant Surface Operations. The position is responsible for ensuring equipment and system availability, maintaining asset integrity, and supporting defined production targets that contribute to the organization's business plan goals.

Key Challenges
  • Maximize equipment availability by identifying potential hazards and production risks, then developing and implementing systems that maintain required availability and asset integrity.
  • Maintain consistent focus, energy, and technical competency to meet daily operational requirements while providing resources and direction for long-term growth and continuous improvement.
  • Leadership of multi-discipline maintenance team with diverse skill sets towards the common goals of the department and organization.
  • Maintain appropriate competency across electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
  • Control costs in an environment that requires frequent strategy adjustments due to changing production rates, wear rates, technology, physical plant changes, and workforce variation.
  • Use computer systems daily to complete work orders, support weekly capacity scheduling, and perform purchasing-related duties.
Key Accountabilities And Competencies
  • Provide leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment for the electrical and instrumentation maintenance team.
  • Ensure all electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities performed by hourly and contractor personnel are carried out safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally sound manner by documenting and following required procedures, practices, standards, and rules, and by meeting quality initiatives.
  • Provides leadership to ensure that equipment is maintained with maximum efficiency and productivity by initiating corrective action and ensuring maintenance and engineering standards are adhered to.
  • Ensures that human resources policies are applied in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Actively engage employees and contractors by seeking input and feedback on issues affecting the department and on plans for change and growth.
  • Ensure the performance management process is used for team members and that performance is managed to meet the needs of both the company and the employee.
Qualifications, Skills, And Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a mine/plant/industrial production environment including operating, maintenance and electrical experience, with 3 or more years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
Technical Qualifications
  • Maintenance planning/scheduling experience.
  • Supervision/management experience.
Contacts
  • Works with the management and engineering team on site.
  • Interfaces with peers in plant operations, technical, business, and HSE to deliver on the business goals.
  • Interfaces with a variety of contractors and vendors.
Supervision Exercised
  • Exercise direct and indirect supervision across multiple levels, using leadership skills to drive the performance and behavior of the electrical and instrumentation maintenance team in support of defined business objectives.
SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

We have some great benefits, including a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off.

  • Outdoors, in a non-temperature-controlled environment, and subject to weather conditions
  • Exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Employees are required to wear safety attire and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders, potentially work at heights, and perceive color differences.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity.

A pre-placement physical and hair follicle drug test will be required for anyone selected for this opportunity. Placement into the position will not be made until the results have been received and cleared by Intrepid.
