Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Work Scheduling Coord Assc to organize and coordinate engineered and non-engineered jobs for the distribution line and service workforce in the area office, using work management systems to align personnel and equipment for timely completion.

You will characterize new Customer Work Requests, provide technical guidance on service design, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, adjust schedules for conflicts, and assist in scheduling planned outages.

Qualifications

• Progression through work scheduling assistant job family or a minimum of 2 years experience in distribution operations.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and ability to learn complex systems.
• Working knowledge of DWMS, SPECTRUM and MACSS/OPS preferred.
• Associate's degree in engineering technology or HS diploma with relevant experience.
• Experience in distribution work processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Accurately characterizing new Customer Work Requests, including electrical load and energy requirements and prerequisites for the job.
• Provide technical knowledge and consultation on basic service design requirements and applicable codes.
• Coordinate with Customers, Supervisors, Builders, Inspectors, Foresters, and Metering to meet prerequisites and deadlines.
• Coordinate with Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Negotiate schedules due to workload, weather, or conflicts.
• Assist in reviewing crew productivity and performance factors weekly.
• Schedule and assist with training, meetings, and other job-related functions.
• Assist in coordinating planned outages and service restoration activities.
