Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Wilmington, DE is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join a hybrid design team. You will draft design drawings, create master sketches to scale, and support engineers in multi-discipline projects using MicroStation and 3D design tools.

You'll work with a collaborative group, participate in design reviews, and accompany experienced designers on site walks to collect requirements. The role emphasizes precise visualization and effective communication with vendors and contractors.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical area including drafting or a high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience
• Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e MicroStation)
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
• Knowledge in MicroStation
• Ability to multi-task from project to project

Responsibilities

• Draft and prepare design drawings based on input from a multidisciplinary team
• Develop master sketches to scale showing relations of installations to existing facilities with exact specifications
• Apply CAD skills and 3D design software in project work and training
• Accompany experienced designers on client site walks to gather information
• Explain drawings to vendors and contractors to support design adjustments
