Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an engineer to troubleshoot, test, inspect electrical apparatus and act as lead on projects. Expect supervision duties and some travel. The role emphasizes testing of power distribution systems and generating detailed project reports.

Candidates should have NEC/NFPA knowledge, passed NETA, and strong communication skills. Flexibility for weekends, holidays, and extended travel is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate engineer with BSEE/BSME or equivalent electrical training.
• Three years minimum experience with electrical work for higher education alternatives.
• Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, NFPA standards.
• Passed NETA exam.
• Strong switchgear testing experience up to 15 kV.
• Good theoretical understanding of electrical power systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication with clients and peers.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally for weeks.
• Proficient with MS Word and research via Internet; operate computer‑controlled test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.
• Lead projects and supervise others; contribute to proposals and pricing.
• Write complete, detailed reports and process job billing promptly.
• May perform complex analysis and evaluative tasks for equipment labeling.
• Take an active role in business development and project expansion.
