Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop test equipment and setups for aircraft power generation components. You will support generator test labs and wind tunnels by enhancing Test Equipment, maintaining and upgrading Production Test Equipment.

The ideal candidate will design, build, and validate test setups, with experience in instrumentation, data recording, and electrical harness design. Onsite role in Rockford, IL with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Degree in STEM or advanced degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Strong analytical thinker with ability to design, build and validate test setups.
Experience with instrumentation, data recording, and electrical harness design.

Responsibilities

Evaluate new product test specifications and determine equipment requirements.
Analyze unit testing interfaces and electrical circuits for proper functionality.
Design harnesses for test equipment and test setups for accurate testing.
Incorporate instrumentation into test setups (flow, pressure, load, torque, airspeed, vibration, temperature).
Design and coordinate build, checkout, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems with hourly workforce.
Create electrical schematics to document designs and communicate across teams.
Create project estimates and work within budget to meet goals.
Support Process Standardization and document with Standard Work.
Identify opportunities to reduce Non‑Recurring Expenses within Test Engineering processes.
Drive AutoCad‑E as the common platform for Electrical Designs
