Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector / Manufacturing seeks a qualified Inspection/Quality engineer in Huntsville, AL to maintain the test environment and ensure compliance with ISO9001/AS9100. You will read drawings, inspect components, review assembly instructions, and collaborate across teams and with suppliers.

The ideal candidate has a BS with 4–8 years of relevant experience (or a Masters with 2 years), is capable of lifting up to 35 lbs, can travel to customer sites, and holds IPC 610/620 or J standards.

Qualifications

• BS degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or Masters with 2 years of relevant experience.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Experience with electrical test environment and equipment (Hypersonic program).
• Knowledge of micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, radius gauges, calipers.
• Experience in ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
• IPC 610/620 or J Standard certification.
• Able to populate inspection reports (handwritten or computer-generated).
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
• Residence in North Alabama or willing to relocate to Huntsville/North Alabama.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Maintain processes in the test environment.
• Develop solutions to complex technical issues affecting multiple areas.
• Communicate with internal team members and client teams.
• Inspect components and read drawings.
• Review and approve assembly instructions.
• Approve procurement requisitions.
• Read drawings and technical data packages.
• Write non-conformances and investigate root cause.
• Perform environmental testing and analysis of electrical boards and components for non-conformances.
• Complete FAI review from Supplier.
• Report supplier changes to management.
