Job summary

Service Wire Company in Houston, TX is seeking an Electrical Technician to repair and install electrical systems, apparatus, and components on machinery and equipment, following electrical codes, schematics, and blueprints. You will diagnose faults with PLCs, relays, motors, and testing equipment, perform PMs, and collaborate with maintenance staff to keep production running.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years related industrial experience.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills are essential.
• General mechanical and electrical knowledge in industrial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, diagrams, and specifications.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Installs and connects power supply wiring for machines and equipment per code and blueprints.
• Detects malfunctioning apparatus and replaces damaged wires.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses faults with maintenance staff.
• Replaces faulty electrical components (relays, switches, motors) and positions sensing devices.
• Diagnoses and repairs electronic components using test equipment.
• May program robots/controllers to test and verify repairs.
• Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus.
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic components.
• Perform PM programs and troubleshoot complex electrical/automation issues.
• Connect to PLCs to monitor and identify faults.
