Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) in Phoenix is hiring an Electrical Technician Instructor to train the next generation of electricians and technicians. You will deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction on electrical systems, safety, and industry best practices.

This role welcomes licensed electricians and skilled trades professionals, offering a 4-day workweek with three days off, and a 5-day paid instructor training program to help transition into teaching.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4+ years hands-on electrical trade experience OR 3+ years teaching electrical or related programs.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with focus on student engagement and instructional clarity.

Responsibilities

• Teach electrical theory, wiring methods, systems, and troubleshooting in classroom and lab settings.
• Deliver engaging instruction aligned with industry standards and safety procedures.
• Instruct students on proper and safe use of tools, materials, and equipment per OSHA standards.
• Maintain lesson plans and lab activities in collaboration with program leadership.
• Monitor and document student attendance, progress, and performance in institutional systems.
• Enter grades and required documentation accurately and on time.
• Ensure classrooms and labs are clean, organized, safe, and fully equipped.
• Support student success through coaching, mentoring, and proactive engagement.
• Participate in required training, in-service sessions, and staff meetings.
• Stay informed of industry advancements and maintain required certifications.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator or Campus Leadership.
