Job summary

AIM in Las Vegas is seeking an Electrical Technician Instructor to train the next generation of electricians. You will deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction on electrical systems and safety, leveraging real-world experience to mentor students. No prior teaching required; a paid 5-day instructor training program is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years hands-on electrical trade experience OR 3+ years teaching electrical or related programs.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety practices.
• Effective verbal and written communication with students.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Teach electrical theory, wiring methods, systems, and troubleshooting in classroom and lab settings.
• Deliver instruction aligned with industry standards, codes and workforce expectations.
• Instruct students on proper and safe use of tools, materials, and equipment with OSHA focus.
• Create a positive classroom and lab environment to support engagement and retention.
• Maintain and update lesson plans, materials, and lab activities with program leadership.
• Monitor attendance, progress, and performance per institutional guidelines.
• Enter grades and documentation into school systems on time.
• Ensure classrooms and labs are clean, safe, and well-equipped.
