Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Manassas, VA is seeking an Electrical Technician Instructor to bridge real-world electrical experience with classroom teaching. You will deliver classroom and lab instruction on electrical systems, safety, and industry best practices, mentoring students for career readiness.

No prior teaching experience is required; AIM provides a 5-day paid instructor training program to support transition to teaching. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Four years hands-on electrical experience OR three years teaching electrical programs.
• Strong understanding of electrical tools, systems, codes and safety practices.
• Effective verbal and written communication, focused on student engagement.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Positive, professional attitude with commitment to student success.

Responsibilities

• Teach electrical theory, wiring methods, systems, and troubleshooting in classroom and lab.
• Deliver instruction aligned with industry standards, codes, and workforce expectations.
• Instruct on proper and safe use of tools, materials, and equipment per OSHA standards.
• Create a positive classroom and lab environment to support engagement and retention.
• Maintain and update lesson plans and lab activities with program leadership.
• Monitor attendance, academic progress, and performance; document in school systems.
• Enter grades and evaluations into school systems on time.
• Keep classrooms and labs clean, safe, and fully equipped; report needs.
• Support student success through coaching and mentoring.
• Participate in training, in-service sessions, and staff meetings; stay current.
• Stay informed of industry advancements and maintain required certifications.
• Ensure compliance with policies, accreditation standards, and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator or Campus Leadership.
