Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an onsite Electrical Technician in Windsor Locks, CT, working Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm. You will read complex blueprints, diagnose and repair electrical issues, and use test equipment to ensure reliable operation.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of relevant experience. U.S. citizenship is required for access to program information.

• 1+ years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Work from complex blueprints, drawings, schematics, service manuals and written and verbal instructions.
• Respond to electrical problems of various complexities and voltages, make repairs and request assistance on more complicated problems.
• Use a variety of electrical and electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, strobe lights, high voltage testers and other associated equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties as directed.
• Assist contractors in the construction of new or remodeling installations.
• Identify and order spare parts as required.
• May be required to take meter readings for kilowatt hours, check fire alarm and facility related batteries.
• Improve process and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and technical support group.
• Instruct one or two fellow employees in the proper performance of duties.
• Keep equipment and surroundings neat and clean.
• Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function.
