Electrical Technician II

Job Locations: US-CA-National City

Overview

R&P is seeking an experienced Marine Electrician / Technician II for a full-time role involving installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment onboard LCS Class Navy ships in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities include installing electrical cabling, building connectors, hardware installation, and system troubleshooting. Due to the job's risks, candidates must prioritize safety and have experience with various electrical devices and systems. Prior LCS Class experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute electrical installation plans for systems such as lighting, power supplies, audio/video, antenna systems, etc.
  • Install electrical cabinets, fixtures, and equipment
  • Install safety and distribution components
  • Connect wiring using MIL-SPEC connectors
  • Pull cables of various lengths and sizes
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of hazards or malfunctions
  • Install, tag, and band copper cables on naval vessels
  • Layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring and coaxial cables onboard Navy vessels
  • Test copper cables and circuits
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and manuals
  • Use tools such as multi-meters, crimpers, and soldering equipment
  • Maintain basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Marine Electrician onboard US Navy ships (education may substitute experience)
  • Experience with multi-pin copper connectors per Navy standards
  • Knowledge of Navy Standard Items
  • Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Attention to detail and quality focus
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
  • Completion of Navy 'A' School or equivalent apprenticeship
  • Experience as a Navy Electrician's Mate or Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical)
  • Proven experience as an electrician and in marine electrical systems
  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to use electrical tools and build MIL-SPEC connectors
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds and willingness to travel
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and security credentials

Salary

We offer a competitive package including health insurance contributions, 401(k) matching, and other benefits. The hourly rate ranges from $25.00 to $30.00, corresponding to an annual salary of approximately $52,000 to $62,400, depending on experience and location.
