Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician in Wixom, MI for contract fabrication of electrical panels used in aerospace cabinets. You will read schematics, wire to print, install and test box assemblies, and ensure quality and safety in a precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities cover wiring 480V/240V/120V systems, soldering, testing with oscilloscopes, and collaborating with teammates to meet delivery goals while upholding strict safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' electrical assembly experience in manufacturing.
  • Ability to wire to print using schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience with 480V/240V/120V systems and test equipment.
  • Strong soldering and diagnosis skills.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues within panel boxes and assemblies, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Follow established assembly procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines throughout all stages of the build process.
  • Maintain an organized workstation, manage parts and components, and contribute to continuous improvement in assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with team members and support other technicians to meet production goals and project deadlines.

Job Description

This role focuses on mechanical and electrical assembly of panel boxes for electrical cabinets used in the aerospace industry. Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical assembly in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and voltages, including 480V, 240V, and 120V; familiarity with 400V is a significant plus.
  • Proven ability to wire to print within panel boxes, accurately interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical wiring, installation, and panel building.
  • Proficiency in reading and working from electrical schematics and technical blueprints.
  • Skilled in soldering electrical components and connections to a high standard.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in an assembly environment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues in panel assemblies.
  • Capability to use test equipment, including oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools, to verify and diagnose electrical performance.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with electronics in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly related to electrical cabinets or similar equipment.
  • Familiarity with a variety of test equipment beyond oscilloscopes, such as multimeters and other diagnostic tools.
  • Comfort working with panel build processes and installation tasks in a production environment.
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed technical documentation and build instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate within an assembly team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
