Position Overview:

Join our client in shaping the future of aviation! Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to enhance our team. Our ideal candidate will support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Technical Operations by performing installation, operation, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of electrical systems and equipment. The technician will develop a working understanding of how system performance impacts both NAS and non-NAS services, using technical manuals, directives, and manufacturer's instructions to complete complex tasks. The technician will apply practical judgment to select efficient methods for completing work, using electronic test equipment for maintenance and repairs, and adhering to safety protocols with proper PPE. The technician must be able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and ensure the safe and effective operation of all equipment. Should have experience in electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting, proficiency with electronic test equipment, a strong understanding of safety procedures and be capable of interpreting technical documentation and using sound judgment to solve problems. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment are essential. This candidate MUST RESIDE IN PUERTO RICO.

This role supports the Federal Aviation Administration, which is responsible for ensuring the safety of 45,000 flights and 3 million passengers traversing over 28 million miles of U.S. controlled airspace every day. In addition to providing air traffic control and safety oversight for civilian aviation, the FAA also works in lockstep with the Department of Defense and other government agencies to ensure the security of our nation. A key component of that coordination involves the collaborative use of aviation tools and data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical System Installation & Maintenance: Perform installation, operation, repair, maintenance, and modification of electrical systems and equipment within FAA-controlled operations. Ensure systems are operating at peak performance by following established procedures and safety standards.

  • Troubleshooting & System Analysis: Troubleshoot electrical system issues for both NAS and non-NAS services. Analyze system performance and apply diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve problems efficiently.

  • Technical Documentation: Interpret and apply technical manuals, directives, and manufacturer’s instructions to ensure the proper completion of complex tasks. Accurately document repairs, system modifications, and maintenance activities.

  • Utilizing Electronic Test Equipment: Use a variety of electronic test equipment to diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs on electrical systems. Ensure the correct equipment and methods are applied for safe and efficient results.

  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries and ensure the safety of all personnel. Follow FAA safety guidelines, regulations, and industry standards during all maintenance activities.

  • Independent Work & Project Management: Manage and prioritize multiple tasks independently, ensuring that deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality. Demonstrate the ability to make effective decisions on site to solve electrical issues promptly.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with team members, managers, and other departments to ensure effective project execution. Communicate issues and progress with supervisors and other stakeholders, providing clear updates on system performance and repair activities.

  • System Performance Impact: Understand the potential impact of electrical system performance on NAS and non-NAS services, and proactively address any issues that may affect operational safety or efficiency.

Work Requirements:

  • Main Office: Onsite at locations in Puerto Rico & USVI
  • Travel: < 25%



Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and be proficient in:
    • Performing installation, operation, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of electrical systems and equipment.
    • Understanding system performance impacts for both NAS and non-NAS services, and be able to use technical manuals, directives, and manufacturer's instructions to complete complex tasks.
    • Application of practical judgment to select efficient methods for completing work, using electronic test equipment for maintenance and repairs, and adhering to safety protocols.
  • High School Diploma plus 5 years relevant experience
  • Applicant must have a current Real ID, valid US passport or be eligible to obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • Eligible to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Must reside in Puerto Rico

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience providing electrical technician support for Air Space (NAS) or similar systems
  • Experience in electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting, proficiency with electronic test equipment, and a strong understanding of safety procedures.
  • Experience interpreting technical documentation and using sound judgment to solve problems, along with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
