Job summary

New Flyer seeks an Electrical Technician to program, troubleshoot, install and repair vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems in a manufacturing setting. The role supports second shift with a schedule of Monday–Thursday 3:00 pm–1:30 am and possible overtime on Fridays.

You will work on Hybrid Drive systems, diagnose issues, interpret schematics, and maintain safety and quality at all times. Ideal candidates have electrical and mechanical diagnosis experience, PLC/ladder logic

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• High voltage experience a plus.
• PLC, ladder logic, AC and DC system experience.
• Experience reading engineering documents, wiring schematics and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair Hybrid Drive systems, networks and electrical components.
• Inspect and diagnose electrical systems issues using PLC and ladder logic.
• Interpret blueprints, process sheets, schematics and instructions for repairs.
• Maintain clean and safe work practices with electrical systems per safety policies.
• Inspect and communicate issues that arise in the required quality checkout.
• Document work and results with support of software programs including Microsoft Office and diagnostic apps.
• Install and repair electrical control components such as resistors, diodes and relays.
• Expand knowledge of technical and maintenance principles including high voltage systems (200+ volts).

Job description

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for providing programing, troubleshooting, installation and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry. This position requires you to use your excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to quality and safety, and positive teamwork attitude to drive your career. Seeking candidates for our second shift, work schedule is Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am. There may be overtime opportunities available on Friday.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Install and repair various Hybrid Drive systems, communication networks, and electrical components
• Inspect and diagnose electrical systems issues using advanced electrical theory, PLC and ladder logic
• Interpret blueprints, process sheets, schematics and instructions for appropriate repairs and process
• Maintain clean and safe work practices with electrical systems by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and processes
• Inspect and communicate issues that arise in the required quality checkout
• Document work and results with support of various software programs including, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet browsers, and diagnostic applications
• Install and repair electrical control components such as resistors, diodes and relays)
• Expand knowledge of technical and maintenance principles including how to perform work around high voltage systems (200+ volts)
