Job summary

New Flyer is seeking an Electrical Technician to install, troubleshoot, program, and repair vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems in a manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork, with second shift from Monday to Thursday 3:00 pm–1:30 am and possible overtime on Fridays.

You will work with hybrid drive systems, PLCs and ladder logic, and read schematics. Strong problem solving and communication skills are essential; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• High voltage experience is a plus.
• Experience with PLC, ladder logic, AC and DC systems.
• Ability to read engineering docs, wiring schematics and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair Hybrid Drive systems, networks, and electrical components.
• Diagnose electrical issues using electrical theory and PLC logic.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics and instructions for repairs.
• Maintain safe work practices and adhere to safety policies.
• Document work and results with diagnostic software and MS Office.
• Install and repair electrical control components (resistors, diodes, relays).
• Expand knowledge of high voltage systems (>200V).

Job description

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for providing programing, troubleshooting, installation and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry. This position requires you to use your excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to quality and safety, and positive teamwork attitude to drive your career. Seeking candidates for our second shift, work schedule is Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am. There may be overtime opportunities available on Friday.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Install and repair various Hybrid Drive systems, communication networks, and electrical components
• Inspect and diagnose electrical systems issues using advanced electrical theory, PLC and ladder logic
• Interpret blueprints, process sheets, schematics and instructions for appropriate repairs and process
• Maintain clean and safe work practices with electrical systems by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and processes
• Inspect and communicate issues that arise in the required quality checkout
• Document work and results with support of various software programs including, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet browsers, and diagnostic applications
• Install and repair electrical control components such as resistors, diodes and relays)
• Expand knowledge of technical and maintenance principles including how to perform work around high voltage systems (200+ volts)

Requirements
