Job summary

New Flyer is seeking an Electrical Technician in Minnesota to program, troubleshoot, install and repair vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Second shift 3:00 pm–1:30 am with possible overtime on Fridays. Candidates should have fault diagnosis skills, PLC experience and readiness for a safety‑driven workplace.

Job DescriptionJob Description

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for providing programing, troubleshooting, installation and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry. This position requires you to use your excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to quality and safety, and positive teamwork attitude to drive your career. Seeking candidates for our second shift, work schedule is Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am. There may be overtime opportunities available on Friday.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Install and repair various Hybrid Drive systems, communication networks, and electrical componentsInspect and diagnose electrical systems issues using advanced electrical theory, PLC and ladder logicInterpret blueprints, process sheets, schematics and instructions for appropriate repairs and processMaintain clean and safe work practices with electrical systems by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and processesInspect and communicate issues that arise in the required quality checkoutDocument work and results with support of various software programs including, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet browsers, and diagnostic applicationsInstall and repair electrical control components such as resistors, diodes and relays)Expand knowledge of technical and maintenance principles including how to perform work around high voltage systems (200+ volts)

Requirements

• Experience in electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repair.


• High voltage experience a plus.


• Previous PLC, ladder logic, AC and DC system experience.


• Experience reading engineering documents, wiring schematics and instructions.
