Job summary

New Flyer seeks an Electrical Technician for the 2nd shift to program, troubleshoot, install and repair vehicle electrical, HVAC and mechanical systems in a manufacturing setting. You will diagnose issues with PLCs, read schematics, and uphold strict safety and quality standards while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities include wiring, testing, and maintaining high voltage systems, documenting work, and using diagnostic software.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• High voltage experience is a plus.
• Experience reading engineering documents, wiring schematics and instructions.
• Commitment to health and safety standards and procedures.
• Strong problem solving and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair various Hybrid Drive systems, communication networks, and electrical components.
• Inspect and diagnose electrical systems issues using advanced electrical theory, PLC and ladder logic.
• Interpret blueprints, process sheets, schematics and instructions for repairs.
• Maintain clean and safe work practices with electrical systems per safety policies.
• Inspect and communicate issues that arise in required quality checkout.
• Document work and results using various software including Microsoft Office and diagnostic tools.
• Install and repair electrical control components such as resistors, diodes and relays.
• Expand knowledge of technical and maintenance principles including high voltage systems (200+ volts).

Job description

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for providing programing, troubleshooting, installation and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry. This position requires you to use your excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to quality and safety, and positive teamwork attitude to drive your career. Seeking candidates for our second shift, work schedule is Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am. There may be overtime opportunities available on Friday.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Install and repair various Hybrid Drive systems, communication networks, and electrical components
• Inspect and diagnose electrical systems issues using advanced electrical theory, PLC and ladder logic
• Interpret blueprints, process sheets, schematics and instructions for appropriate repairs and process
• Maintain clean and safe work practices with electrical systems by adhering to safety policies, procedures, and processes
• Inspect and communicate issues that arise in the required quality checkout
• Document work and results with support of various software programs including, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet browsers, and diagnostic applications
• Install and repair electrical control components such as resistors, diodes and relays)
• Expand knowledge of technical and maintenance principles including how to perform work around high voltage systems (200+ volts)

Requirements

• Experience in electrical and mechanical diagnosis and repair.
