Maverick Group US's West Chester client is hiring a Validation Technician for an on-site, entry-level role in industrial automation. You will validate and test conveyor systems, gain hands-on skills in controls, troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning.

Starting on internal validation, you will document results, learn from experienced technicians, and grow toward field service roles with opportunities to travel as you advance. Position is full-time and on-site in West Chester, Ohio.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring Validation Technicians to join their West Chester team. This is an entry-level path into industrial automation. You’ll start on internal validation and testing of conveyor systems, building core skills in controls, troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning. As you grow, you’ll have the opportunity to move into field service and other advanced technical roles, including customer site support and travel.

What You’ll Do

• Test conveyor systems built by our production team using an established, standardized validation process.
• Connect equipment to test panels and run HMI-driven test sequences.
• Load and download controller programming to motor controllers.
• Perform dry-run testing and troubleshoot wiring and sensor issues.
• Accurately document test results and flag deviations or failures to engineering and production teams.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards at all times.
• Learn from experienced technicians and build skills toward future field service responsibilities.

What We’re Looking For

• Basic proficiency in plc programming, wiring, motor, and network troubleshooting.
• Recent graduates, co-op/internship experience, and people from adjacent trades (such as electricians looking to move into a more technical role) are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and procedures.
• Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, motor controllers, or electrical troubleshooting.
• Comfortable with computers and basic data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation habits.
• Reliable, motivated, and able to stay engaged with repetitive testing work while building toward bigger responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel in the future as you advance into field-based roles (no travel at the start).
• Ability to stand for extended periods, move around a production facility, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice to Have

• Associate degree, technical or vocational diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical field (e.g., industrial automation, electrical, mechatronics, or mechanical).
• Industrial automation training or certification
• Co-op or internship experience in manufacturing, controls, or maintenance.
• Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement practices
• $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
