Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. in Plymouth, MI (Hybrid) seeks an Electrical Technical Leader to guide electrical engineering work across projects.

You will ensure technical accuracy, enforce standards, and mentor a team of engineers and designers to deliver high-quality, coordinated solutions for our clients. Reporting to Operations & AI Director, you will partner with Project Managers and cross-discipline teams, promote continuous improvement, and stay current with codes and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a MEP consulting firm.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership and management experience.
• Professional Engineer licensure.
• History of building strong teams to improve the client experience and drive business results.
• Proven track record engaging with clients and maintaining effective relationships over time.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight on electrical engineering projects.
• Own electrical discipline standards and QA/QC reviews.
• Identify improvements to design standards, workflows, tools, and technical processes.
• Partner with Project Managers, Team Leaders, and other disciplines to resolve technical challenges.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in design reviews and client discussions.
• Coach and mentor engineers and designers, provide timely and actionable feedback.
• Promote a culture of quality, continuous feedback, and empowering growth.
• Assess technical capabilities, training needs, software, and other resources.
• Stay current with codes, emerging technologies, and industry practices.
• Maintain an active PE license and seal drawings when needed.
