Job summary

Dialectic, a Kansas City-based MEP engineering firm, seeks an Electrical Designer Team Lead to oversee electrical staff and guide the design process across business, retail, housing, education, and entertainment sectors.

You will perform quality reviews, develop complex electrical solutions, and present designs to clients while reporting to the Electrical Department Manager. Collaboration with HR and other departments is essential for growth.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certification in the engineering field plus 10+ years of demonstrated experience or the equivalent education/experience.
• Moderate REVIT/AutoCAD and office computer proficiency.
• Strong understanding of local codes and amendments, with the ability to interpret and apply the codes towards system design and calculations.
• Strong familiarity with building structures, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and how they interact.

Responsibilities

• Manages electrical staff, delegate tasks, and provide feedback toward project success.
• Sets comprehensive goals for performance and growth of staff.
• Create high-quality design drawings using Revit/AutoCAD; ensure adherence to standards.
• Perform load calculations and electrical system design analyses.
• Coordinate design requirements with BIM, other disciplines, and project management.
• Present complex technical solutions to clients.
• Lead in design reviews and coordinate with senior staff on decisions.
• Travel for site surveys and field inspections as needed.
